Amahi and Ubuntu
Amahi and Ubuntu
Quick question: how far is the development bringing amahi to the Ubuntu distro? - how long before we can expect any release/news?
Re: Amahi and Ubuntu
I would say its gonna be a while. We are focusing on Amahi for Fedora 14 at the moment. The developer who was working the project has not been able to dedicate much time to it lately.
Hard to give an estimate, but I would venture to say not likely before the end of the year. Sorry I cannot offer more accurately, but I just don't know exactly what is left to be done or when progress will regain momentum.
We are a very small group of volunteers. Our current workload with Fedora 14 and keeping the existing Fedora 12 maintained is quite a workload. If you have some experience with Ubuntu development and would like to assist, that would be great.
See http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/UbuntuPorting for more info on Ubuntu.

Re: Amahi and Ubuntu
I run Amahi on my Ubuntu Server using Virtualbox , I created a virtual machine on my box and installed Amahi onto it, has its own IP address and does everything I want.
