replace disk

Postby blackbird » Wed Nov 03, 2010 3:25 am

Hej

Ive finished my Amahi testsetup and want to transform it to an productiv system. But therefor i have to replace a HDD. Its an old seagate Sata II 160GB and i want to replace it with an 1TB Caviar Green. But i want to do it without loosing data and/or shares. and no, the seagate is not the OS HDD ;)
But i dont want to loose everything ive copied to it. So can i move everything to the new WD HDD in an secure way and then disconnect the seagate? And is there an easy way? In future it could be possible that i want to replace my 1TB drves with 2 or 2,5 TB drives. And i cant add PCI Sata Cards or want to spend hours of time to do this.

I'm going to assume you don't need / want an answer to this anymore, in light of the other issues you're having.
Let me know if otherwise.
