Greyhole Parameters

Postby cburner » Sat Aug 21, 2010 9:45 pm

I was noticing that when I was deleting files from my shares that I was not getting the hard drive space back. I went digging through the greyhole.log and found that they were being moved to a hidden directory named .gh_attic (a.k.a. Recycle Bin). From my experience with Ubuntu, if you type a command into the terminal that it should return the parameters used with the command. By typing grehole into the terminal, I received:

Code: Select all

[root@localhost gh]# greyhole Invalid command line options. Usage: Start the daemon: greyhole --daemon Schedule a fsck: greyhole --fsck [--email-report] [--dir <path>] [--disk-usage-report] Balance available space on storage pool devices: greyhole --balance Display statistics: greyhole --stats Empty attic: greyhole --empty-attic Debug file operations: greyhole --debug <filename> List frozen directories: greyhole --thaw Thaw a frozen directory: greyhole --thaw <share/directory> Pre-rotate task: greyhole --prerotate Post-rotate task: greyhole --postrotate When <path>, one of your storage pool directories, is/will become unavailable: <path> will return soon: greyhole --wait-for <path> <path> is gone for good: greyhole --gone <path> <path> will be gone for good: greyhole --going <path>
So after reclaiming back the 100g of disk space that was hidden I though that I would post these commands in one post for all to see.

Will try to get it into the wiki in the next day or two.

Yeah. There is one option coming up for accessing the attic with a share. Easier to manage.
