Unable to access any shares from W7 PCs

Postby tonedau » Fri Jun 18, 2010 11:02 pm

Hi Guys

Hoping someone can help me ... I'm fairly new to linux and Amahi.

I have just finished setting up Amahi and so far all has gone ok except I can't access the shares from either of my W7 PC's.

When I click on network and then hda I can see all the shares, but if I try to access one of them it says "The network path is not found" and if I do a diagnose it says the HDA exists but Windows can't find "docs".

Not sure what I have or haven't done for this to happen as it was all ok to begin with and then all of a sudden it stopped. I have rebooted both W7 machines and the server to no avail.

Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks

Hello,

You may wanna try this http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Shares_troubleshooting. I use Windows 7 with no problems.

If this still does not fix your issues, please let us know.

Thanks for the reply.

I decided to rebuild my server last night. After I did that I could access all the shares. I have since added a second HDD after following the wiki and now I can't access any of the shares. Maybe it's something I have done when adding the second HDD. I have 4 1TB HDD that I want to put into the server.

I've tried what was in the wiki you suggested and I'm getting a login screen from my PC and then for the server but it won't accept my password for my account on the server.

When I first setup the server I started copying stuff over and then I lost the access so haven't been able to copy the files back. I have the drive that the files were on, is there a way of being able to access those files so that I can copy them back and then format the HDD again?
