Internet then no internet setting the server up

Postby hackbragg » Wed Jun 09, 2010 8:05 am

I am having issues with my HDA and setting up my network once it is installed. I can get out to the internet and access the hda from the server and other machines in the network both wireless and cabled. But once I reboot the hda and turn the DCHP off in the router I can not get out to the internet on any computer and I can not get back into the router until I hard reset it back to default.
I know I am missing some simple little thing but for the life of me I can not get it figured out.

I have another question off topic a bit. Do you guys take donations the software is great and I would love to help the cause.
Thanks

Make sure to disable the correct DHCP setting on your router.

There's one for the WAN (Internet), which is what tells your router to use DHCP to get it's WAN IP from your modem / ISP. Don't disable that.

The one you want to disable is the DHCP server for your LAN (local network). The one that gives out IP addresses.

If you're sure you're disabling the LAN DHCP server on your router, here's something to try:

Im sure about the WAN and LAN part. Thanks for the tip on using the network trouble shoter. I was trying to use it last night but couldn't figure out how I was supposed to use it if I couldnt get on line.

The printable option wasn't there yesterday when you looked, so you'r not going blind.
I added it today when I saw your post here.
