Podcast Catcher

Postby BHay » Wed May 05, 2010 10:37 am

I just recently installed Amahi but I didn't see any apps that i could use to download my audio podcasts. If it makes any difference i have one podcast that needs a username and password to download. Is there an app that i over looked. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hello,

Currently I am not aware of any apps that will meet your need. If you know of any that could be added to Amahi, please don't hesitate to make the suggestion. You can go to http://www.amahi.org and there is a suggestion link under applications. You must be logged in first though.

Thats what i thought. I will defiantly go to the suggestions page and make a suggestion. In the meantime however, i've been using Gpodder. for some reason i cant download the one podcast that requires a user name and password. ive done some some research, and ive posted questions in other forums and it sounds like i need to update the version of gpodder i am using. bottom line is, after i got Amahi up and running, i obviously lost the package manager front end that was found in the menus, am i still able to use the command line to update software that was not downloaded from the Amahi Apps web page? I am extremely new to Red Hat Based distros, so i will need to research rpm commands. Thanks for the help.

There is an RSS downloader for feeds, as a native Amahi app. However, it probably does not support username/password. I may not be too hard to do. The author is gbougreau (or Mouton in the IRC channel) and he may have a better idea :)
