A have several questions. Here is my situation. New Amahi install on a home network with a router. All boxes on this network are windows flavors. I was using Windows Home server for shared file storage and imaging of each computer on the network. I used the work group name of GG to include the server. I could then see each PC and the server in network neighborhood. I have installed the Amahi server and cannot see the server. In this network configuration:
1. Should I run the Amahi server with a static IP address? If so how do you give the server a static IP address? Do I have to do anything special on the Dlink router if I assign the server with a static IP address?
2. Should I run the Amahi server as the DHCP server instead of the router? If so how do you set that up?
3. How do I set up the server so that it can see and be seen by the computers on this home network? In windows it was easy - Just set up each one in the same work group (GG for example). Can I do the same thing with Amahi server? If so how do you do so?
thanks in advance for your assistance!!
