Amahi VPN newbie - Certificates?

Postby locutis » Wed Apr 14, 2010 10:48 am

I've just finished connecting to my HDA from a windows machine at my office. I can't believe how easy this was to setup.

I am however a little concerned, I was able to connect with just my username and password. My previous Open VPN experiences required me to use a certificate on the remote host which seems much more secure.

If it possible to require a certificate with Amahi's Open VPN implementation?

What Amahi provides out of the box is designed for simplicity. You can create your own certificates, require the system to use the certificate you want, for each user one separately, whether the user even is required a password, etc.

However, that is not something Amahi provides at the moment. The philosophy with Amahi is "It's your box!" ... meaning, Amahi does not prevent you from tapping into the power of your system. You can go in there and add it!

We may be able to help you in the future with this if there is sufficient demand.
My HDA: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz on MSI board, 8GB RAM, 1TBx2+3TBx1
