Hi , I am a newbie to Linux and therefore the Amahi server software. I have successfully installed Amahi and installed some apps. I installed the family connections, however I am at a lost now what to do next. I login remotely (intranet) and got to the amahi dashboard and click on "Family connections", it than loaded up the app and ask for login info. As I don't have a login I register and at the end it said I need to activate the account and an email has been sent to the email address. I never receive the email so I am stuck I am not sure how to proceed. Is there suppose a admin login? same go with the Joomla apps. Somehow I just don't know how to get through the registration part.
Also , anothe question, I have windows machine in my network, how can I transfer the files from those windows machine to Amahi? In another words how to I go in a windows machine and make the Amahi share to show so I can transfer the files?
Thanks for your help
Family connections installed... what next?
Re: Family connections installed... what next?
Hello,
Most apps have special instructions displayed after you install with the login credentials. It is typically
user name: admin
password: admin
You can access shares several ways on a Windows machine. The easiest is from Run, enter \\hda. You can also open up Windows Explorer and enter \\hda in the address bar as well. Either one will present you with the default Amahi folders.
I recommend you browse http://wiki.amahi.org when you have questions as there are many solutions presented their to the commonly asked questions and issues.
Thanks for trying Amahi and feel free to stop by the IRC or post if you need more assistance. Best way to learn is experiment and play around with it.

Re: Family connections installed... what next?
thanks... one more question. how do I make FMCS available as a webpage so that people outside of my network can access it... I tried "xxx.yourhda.com" but it just brings me to the default fedora "Test page". Also is there anyway I can have the openpage points to the default Amahi control panel page where it shows the different apps I have installed and allow memebers to go from there?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: Family connections installed... what next?
this is not made too easy in amahi yet.
the hosting your own website page has the raw directions on how to do it.

Re: Family connections installed... what next?
I tried that. An can access the Amahi Dashboard where it shows the different apps e.g. Gallery 2, Joomla etc...) but when I clicked Family Connections, it direct me to "fcms.home.com" which is an external website. Any idea? Thanks
Re: Family connections installed... what next?
That's ok now... I got it fix. what if there are multi webapps I want to allow end user to access? do I just modify the same file for each app.?
Thanks.
Thanks.
