I am new, so of this exists let me know.
I would like to see if an app exists that could drive a second/third monitor that would act as a digital picture frame.
This could also provide at a glace the home calendar and quick messages to other family members.
Also,
Any thought on adding X10 home automation?
Thanks

Re: Digital Picture frame and notication center
there are many many possibilities here.
you could run XBMC on a separate X session ... or ... there are picture frames now that can pull via WiFi. Not sure sure what protocol they would use. I imagine Samba.
About x10 ... yes, we looked at that, but it's old and unmaintained upstream. Things like zigbee and others would make more sense, though there is no real standard for that yet.
Thoughts anyone?
