[Solved] File Sharing through VPN & W7/W vista

Hi everybody (my first post here & i don't think it will be the last one),

First, sorry for my approximative english (frenchie here) .
At the present my HDA works with DNS & DHCP and it's working fine in my LAN (File Sharing & http://hda & web softwares).

Since yesterday i try trough the VPN to access my file shares (\\hda\"shares") and i haven't succeed. <-- My question implied

I use the latest verion of HDAconnect to create the VPN gate with success. With this, i can see http://hda & web softwares through amahi.

Another information, i don't try to connect in my LAN but with another internet connection.

Could you explain my misunderstanding? I don't find anything in the wiki, so i don't think it's a normally case.

try the full domain \\hda.home.com

does it bring a password prompt?
what client? (xp, vista, win7, mac, linux)

Hello,

I did tests on W7 Home Premium, OSX 10.6, Fedora 12 and Ubuntu 9.10.
On linux (using OpenVPN) and OSX (for tunnelblick: besides the wiki is wrong, we must put the files. Crt &. Key in the following directory: ~/Library/Application Support/Tunnelblick/Configurations and not here: ~/Library/openvpn).

So I focused on the problem W7 (I use HDAconnect). I insist on the fact that yes, the connection is partially functionnal and that I can connect to http://hda and web applications. BTW, i can't connect to the internet when HDAconnect is activated.

Here are my connection attempts which all failed:
- \\Server IP (192.168.*.*)
- \\Hda\
- \\Hda.home.com (Of course, in my case, it is not home.com)
- (and for web : http://www.google.com or http://www.amahi.org do not work at all).

It can not reach the destination, so no demand for password and launch of a diagnostic network that came to nothing special. Here is the log :

For me, it seems to be OK in the log.

Finally, it is one of the members present on IRC who gave me an excellent track! Mouton thank you (and thank you also to others who have tried to help me).

So that the next person does not galley as I give my feedback.

It is necessary to disable the filter part on the public network firewall windows. It is extremely restrictive, it prevents the outgoing or incoming connections if you have configured your firewall (and then up to you to reconfigure if you think necessary to do so).

It is impossible to change the security policy of the VPN connection, at least I have not found.
