CUPS

Postby langleypro » Sat Oct 22, 2016 1:25 pm

I am a complete noob but I want to install printers on my network and I am having problems with the installation/configuration of CUPS. When it talks about accessing the links for configuration I cannot seem to access this. How is this done?

Are you following the Cups guidance in the wiki?

It explains how to use Links.

I am not sure what to do when it says to login into the links configuration page. Is this something I do in my browser? I am assuming I type in my ip address:631. I don't understand this part and being a total noob I was hoping for some help here. Thoughts?

No this this done via command line.

It's a text version of a web browser.

Most don't use Cups since wireless printers are more common.

Try the PDF printer wiki guidance as well.
