As I said.
I set the router to use the HDA for DNS.
I have also set my client to use the HDA for DNS.
I have rebooted router, HDa and client.
Now if I type in http://hda I can reach the dashboard from client which as I understand it means DNS is working.
BUT the apps don't work. They take me to the web address I mentioned. Probably not related but I have also noticed that some apps are no longer in the available list, although I have not installed them, nor are they in the installed list - for example Caliber? I did install it on a previous Amahi installation attempt. It suggests something is not updating?
I completed the first 8 steps of the interactive troubleshooter successfully, but am reluctant to turn off DHCP on my router for step 9. I have many devices in my LAN all with fixed IPs.

Something is amiss if there are apps installed and they are not reflecting as installed.

Please check /var/log/amahi-app-installer.log for errors.

Did you do any manual changes? I have not heard of anyone having the issues you are experiencing.

Are there any other details you can provide? Seems like I am missing something here.

I see some errors in the log near the end.

Please post the output of the following:

Code: Select all

echo "select id,name from webapps" | mysql -uroot -phda hda_production

That commands returns the following:

Let's just do it this way then:

Code: Select all

echo "select * from webapps" | mysql -uroot -phda hda_production
That should yield some results.

I don't have access to my HDA to verify the syntax is correct, so hopefully it works.

BTW, did you run hda-install more than once? There seems to be some details missing about your install. Can you provide more clarity on how you performed the install of Fedora and Amahi?

That commands returns the following:
ERROR 1049 (42000): Unknown database 'hda-production'

I've done numerous installs in an attempt to get this working. This is the third install code I've used, followed the install instructions and the only thing I did differently this time was install the LXDE desktop.
By the way I took the plunge and converted to using DHCP on the HDA. All fixed IPs are less than 100.

It's hda_production not hda-production. Underscore and not a dash.

Please try again.

BTW we do not support desktop installs. Recommend you stick with the default install instructions and not deviate.

I tried the default install and it didn't work. Once I (we) work out what is actually causing the problem I may revert to the standard install.

Ok I see there are apps installed. You stated they don't show in Available or Installed of the Apps tab? This is uncharacteristic and possibly caused by you using a non-standard Amahi install method.
BTW we do not support desktop installs. Recommend you stick with the default install instructions and not deviate.
Sorry my comment above might not have been clear. We cannot provide support to a desktop install. There are compatibility issues with desktop packages and Amahi which is why we don't provide guidance for those types of installs with Amahi 9 or future releases.

If you want further assistance, you need to follow the install instructions as documented at http://docs.amahi.org
I tried the default install and it didn't work.
What did not work? That's what we can help with. Rather than deviating from guidance, ask for help. We are happy to help with the supported install problems.
