Thanks.

After installing the disk wizard app and grey hole I thought I should reboot the system just for good measure. When I did it drops into emergency mode and gives me a message "cannot open access to console, the root account is locked. See sulogin(8) man page for more details.

I've lost all access to the server and the Internet.

That's not good.

I am willing to bet it's got something to do with a drive not being properly mounted.

Not easy to get things back in order either. A reinstall might be quicker.

If you don't want to do that, then you will need to search the internet for how to remove drives from /etc/fstab via the emergency mode.

ok, i'll do a reinstall.

I think the problem was with internal hard drive that the install is on. i couldn't figure out how to mount the partition of that drive that has data on it with disc wizard or have it in the greyhole.

If this is a separate partition on the OS drive, you can follow the manual instructions to mount it. See adding a second hard drive to your HDA guidance in the wiki.

Even though it's only a partition, the guidance still applies. I have had issues myself using the Disk Wizard, so I prefer the manual method as it gives me more control of the process.

Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for all the help. Everything has been running smoothly for a few days and the greyhole app picked up everything perfectly.
