waiting install......why?

Postby sijames » Mon Jul 27, 2015 6:14 am

I really wanted to like Amahi & use it to back up my files, as a first time user of a "server." However, after following the official install method my control panel is still showing "waiting install." This seems to be a topic that has come up before but there does not appear to be a simple way to deal with this issue that those of us who are new to these things can follow easily! So in a nutshell....why does this happen?

Did you get through the whole install process ? Or is your server not functioning at all ? Did you test the install disk to see if it was burned correctly(when u first install Amahi this option should appear).
Server: AsRock N3700(4-core) mini-itx,8GB crucial RAM,Iocrest 8-port expansion card,450W corsair psu, x4 3TB WD green drives. All in a Sunbeam UFO case. (Amahi 8).

OK, Amahi is installed on my PC, no problem. I can enter hda in a browser and it connects to the system & shows the disk that is available for storage. However, when I go to Apps, there is nothing installed & says there are no apps available at this time. I want to use Amahi sync to back up files. Whilst I have a fair bit of computer knowledge I am new to home servers. Nothing shows up in windows explorer to say that the hda is available, so I guess something must be not quite right

To me as a newbie to these things, it seems to me that Amahi is a long way from being an intuitive system to use.

I think if I can't get this sorted, I wil go to something else, shame really, but I don't want to waste inordinate amounts of time trying to get this sorted......life's to short for that!! :D

Seems like a networking issue.

Recommend you check out the network troubleshooter.

What guidance did you follow for install?
