I am trying to install the software and when I get to the part where it asks for the install code the software tells me it is invalid. I have tried upper and lower case and nothing works. I verified the emailed code against the code in my control console.
Anyone have thi issue?
Thanks,
Sean
Install won't take my install code
Re: Install won't take my install code
I presume this is the Express CD. Did you check that it was correctly burned to CD/DVD? This is often the cause of issues.

Re: Install won't take my install code
The problem was a bad config when I registered. I got the gateway wrong. All fixed now.
Thanks!

Re: Install won't take my install code
I'm having this issue now. I'm kicking myself because the first time I did the install, it worked fine
. I got a new router and I wanted (needed?) to change the config of the server to match but I didn't know how. I was advised to re-do the install. No big deal I thought. After about 6 tries now, I can no longer get the code to accept. Everything I've read says it's either the fact that the NICs name is not defaulting to "eth0" while others say the server cannot see the network but I don't think so. I tried renaming the NIC to "eth0" in the initial config but it won't stick. I can ping the HDA server by IP address just fine and it show up in a ping-sweep (It's IP is outside my DHCP). I might try again tonight, leave it on DHCP and try to change it after the fact? <shrugs>
Thoughts?

Re: Install won't take my install code
Per the install instructions, ensure there is only one NIC enabled. Then I would recommend you delete the HDA profile on amahi.org and create a new one. Ensure it matches your network with the new router.
Are you using Amahi Express CD?

Re: Install won't take my install code
I just confirmed there is only one NIC. I delete the HDA profile each time and create a new one and the config always matches my router. I simply don't get it. I have about 6 computers on the network and they're all fine.
tiny update: Since it wasn't accepting my code I decided to shut the system off. I turned it back on and it booted to a login prompt. I logged in fine as the user (admin) I created. Is this a good sign? Is there some command-line Linux magic I can perform?

Re: Install won't take my install code
Yes that is normal behavior.
Now if you go to http://hda or http:IP_ADDRESS and see if you get the Amahi dashboard.

Re: Install won't take my install code
Nope. Both return page cannot be displayed. I think I'm going to restart the install, let the server grab DHCP and see what happens.

Re: Install won't take my install code
Yep sounds like that is necessary.
If the install code is not accepted, then Amahi does not get installed. If you are using Express DVD and not having any luck, you may need to try the Amahi 7 Full DVD method.
