SOLVED: Impossible to complete Amahi installation - can access internet but no websites? DNS problem?

Yes I switched off "Embedded NIC port 1 control" in BIOS
I re-installed Amahi (express install dvd)
At first DNS did not work, but I tried following commands:

dhclient –r dhclient systemctl restart hda-ctl.service

After this everything seemed to work (amahi server had the right static IP address, it provided DHCP leases to all clients, everybody could access to internet, dashboard was working (including applications), I mapped network drives, etc)

Unfortunately, a few hours later, suddenly nothing was working anymore: both server and clients were unable to receive an IP address anymore... it seemed like the dhclient died or something

Looking in the /root hda-install log, I see the same errors as above still occurred (full log here: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/10562058/)

Any idea what is going on ??

Interesting.

So did you turn off your router DHCP and DNS server? Have you check the /var/log/messages for errors? That may provide some clues.

Also have you updated the OS? If not, I would recommend you do so.

Yes I switched DHCP off on my Lan Bridge. My clients receive their IP address from the amahi server.

The "amahi-anywhere.log" shows the system is running fine at setup (17h) then suddenly reads "Lost connection to the proxy"

Which other logs should I be looking at?

What do you mean by "updating the OS"? -> installing a later version of Fedora?

Ok I've run "yum update"
There seems to an issue: "** Found 202 pre-existing rpmdb problem(s)" - should I worry about this?

Yes it is a problem.

Recommend as root user you do:

yum install yum-utils yum-complete-transaction

That should fix any issues.

Since there is a kernel update, a reboot is required after it completes.

Once finished, let's then see where things align and go from there.

Ok that seemed to work fine
I let the system run for a day or two and it seems stable now
Looks like the problems is fixed
