disabling the DHCP in te router.

Postby maxpop » Tue Feb 24, 2015 11:35 pm

Hi.

How is this amahi server suppose to work? I have just installed the server and have reached item 9 of the interactive troubleshooting steps. What will happen when I disable the DHCP in my router/modem? I am working on one laptop. Will disabling the DHCP (DNS as well?) in the router/modem affect the other computers and devices (Desktops, laptops, smart TVs, PS3, etc) in the network? Should I configure the rest as well before I disable the DHCP? If so, how? The smart TVs, laptops, and the PS3 are connected via wifi.

Turn off DHCP on your router and let the HDA hand out DHCP leases.

Renew DHCP lease on your client and all should be fine.
