Postby ulsterboy84 » Wed Jan 28, 2015 9:42 am

i have folled the guide excatly for installing and setting up amahi server and its still not working, i have reinstalled 4 times now

when i run the troubleshooting it says i have no problems
Progress
Step 1: Your HDA IP address is 192.168.1.110

Step 2: Your HDA domain name is amahi.net

Step 3: Your router IP address is 192.168.1.1

Step 4: Your HDA DNS server is working fine for local hostnames

Step 5: Your router is accessible from your HDA server.

Step 6: Your HDA can access the Internet

Step 7: Your HDA DNS server is working fine for external hostnames

Step 8: Your HDA Dashboard is accessible.

Step 9: Your HDA DNS server is used by your client computer.

Step 10: Your client computer has the correct domain name

Step 11: Your router is accessible from your client computer.

Step 12: You can access the internet on your client computer (ping test successful).

Step 13: Your HDA DNS server is working fine for external hostnames on your client computer.

however when im in my hda home screen and i click a link to an app i end up in this page http://owncloud7.amahi.net/
amahi.net is my dns. it seems to go to the public domain. Also when i use my android phon and click a link for the app it works perfectly. How should i resolve this problem

Have you disabled the DHCP and DNS server on your router?

I was kinda hoping someone here would know about it. I won't be able to figure it out myself. Anyone any ideas?

Have you checked the Amahi wiki? Have not seen much on Windows 8 in the forums if that is the issue.

Did you configure the Windows 8 client for a static IP address? Might want to do an

Code: Select all

ipconfig /all
on that client to determine if it's getting the DHCP lease and DNS from the HDA.

ok when i click app link http://owncloud7.amahi.net/ i arrive at a page which says "This is the internet home of amahi.net
If you arrived here after a fresh Amahi install, your network may need a few adjustments in order to make your Amahi HDA fully functional." ,

however if i edit the link and type http://owncloud7 it works perfect. what does this mean

Have you checked the domain name you are using with amahi.org to ensure they match? Also did you make any manual configuration changes to ownCloud?
