USB port & installation code issues

Postby kishagi » Mon Dec 22, 2014 1:41 pm

Hi everybody,

I decided to try out amahi after reading reviews on lifehacker and it seemed to be going well until the installation code part.

I try to put in the code I was given and had triple checked, but keeps coming up as invalid. I have no clue why.

So I'm trying to cancel the installation (using only my keyboard) and it keeps clicking on the "ok" instead.

This is where the USB issue comes in. None of my USB devices work what so ever. During the dos/bios or w/e boot up/loading phase I noticed that a bunch of "failed" messages came up. I don't know why or how to fix that either.

I am currently using a gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 rev4.0 motherboard.

For the time being should I just shut off the computer during the installation? cause I have no means of doing much else.

Thanks for your help.

If the install code is not working, then chances are there is no connectivity for it to check. This does happen occasionally when a network card is unsupported in Fedora.

Did you follow the guide at http://docs.amahi.org? You did not provide information on what you used for an install media. We need more details to help here.

Ok, that helps. Could be a driver issue.

Best to try the Amahi 7 Full DVD method. If this does not work, we can then do more investigation. 99% of the time this does solve the issue.
