Hi
I appeared to have successfully installed Amahi Express, I can login on the server with a terminal connected. On W7 I can see the disk in the network section of Explorer and the standard folders that are set up on the disk BUT I can't log in and access the disc either using http://hda which appears to display correctly and ask for a Username and Password and Confirmation or if I click on one of the folders on the disc, it gives me invalid username or password for both. The W7 Control Panel (http://www.amahi.org/users) indicated that the STATUS as running. I'm sure that I am using the correct username and password because I've managed to login directly to the server using then.
Thanks for help in advance
Can't Log In to Server - W7 with Username and Password
Re: Can't Log In to Server - W7 with Username and Password
Recommend you check out Shares Troubleshooting guide in the wiki. There are some common solutions there.
When you say log into the server directly, do you mean via console or SSH? The user you created on initial install is the one that should work. Might be a Windows firewall issue or something else related causing problems.

Re: Can't Log In to Server - W7 with Username and Password
Thanks for your reply, I'll try those when I'm next on my computer. My Username was computer name/user name instead of work group /Username, this might be the problem

Re: Can't Log In to Server - W7 with Username and Password
Hi
I'm still having trouble with this, clearly there's something I doing wrong
When I run ipconfig /all I get my IPv4 address as 192.168.1.6 and my default gateway as 192.168.1.1 and if I run the installer without the LAN cable connected it, going into config it tells me that the IP Address is 192.168.1.2 but I presume that that is the address of the Server machine I am loading Amahi on to. SO when I'm setting up my Network Gateway should I use 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.6? I've tried both. When I use .1.1 the Server doesn't show up on windows explorer Network section so I presume that this is not the right one to use????/
Sorry I'm just going to reboot my router because I've just turned off DHCP

Re: Can't Log In to Server - W7 with Username and Password
I can log onto the server both when the console is attached to the Server and using PUTTY ( I guess this is SSH) thru W7.
When I DHCP turned off on the router I could see HDA on Windows explorer but still couldn't log on. (PS with DHCP truned off the WiFi on the router didn't work).
I've turned DHCP back on and now can't see HDA on Windows explorer. My current configuration for the Network Gateway is 192.168.1.1
I also at one stage turned the firewall off but that didn't help
Thanks in anticipation
Regards

What browser are you using? Have you tried any others? If you can log in using SSH, then there must be something with the client causing the issue.

AH!!!!!!
I have exhausted ever possibility that has been suggested by you, the trouble shooter and I've also set up the credentials manager but too no avail.
I'm surprised that nobody else has had this problem
If something comes up in the future, can you please post any possible suggestions here. The product looks great, I'm disappointed that I'm not able to use it

Re: Can't Log In to Server - W7 with Username and Password
Sorry to hear it's still not working. Something may have gone wrong with the install. Have you checked:
/var/hda/platform/html/log/production.log
and
/root/hda-install-######-######.log
for errors?
Others who have had this issue determined that the password they were using was incorrect or they had the CAPS lock on when trying to log in. This is the first I have heard of this sort of problem.
Have you tried any other clients or browsers?

Re: Can't Log In to Server - W7 with Username and Password
I only use Chrome, Firefox was bringing up new pages (like popups) even though I had malware and anti Virus. ANyway I've downloaded Firefox again but no change.
I'm going thru all the options I can find and I'm at the
ping -c 1 router BUT -c is not a valid option for ping????????
I've checked the logs you suggest but with my limited knowledge of Linux, there didn't appear to be any errors
Oh when I ping 68.180.206.184 it fails but I can ping yahoo.com
Regards
PS I hate Windows but unfortunately I have to use it because the app I use to write mobile apps only runs under windows
