I just turned on GH with two drives, and flagged two shares to use it.
I then ran the following 'cp -R '/mnt/samba/PB11/copy of photos' /mnt/samba/photos'. (PB11 is not on one of the GH drives)
After some time, my main hard drive is about 18GB less space, but I can't find the files anywhere in the shares '/mnt/samba/Photos', or '/var/hda/files/photos'.
I tried to search for a known filename, but the find get's stuck searching thru a self-referencing folder. see pic.
any help?

Re: Can't find files in Shares, but files copied to somewher
Hey phreaq,
What does /var/log/greyhole.log say?
did you run greyhole --fsck?
What are the permissions on your samba shares and on you /var/hda/files?
Did you use cp -R or mv -R? related to your 18GB disappearance question.

Re: Can't find files in Shares, but files copied to somewher
thanks for the reply!
the greyhole log is not a full log it seems, as the time stamps only go back as far as earlier this morning, but the top most records say:
I did run 'greyhole --fsck' yesterday, but there was no error, it just said it will start once pending tasks are completed.
The shares seems to be 775, and since I could do it later from a Windows Machine, I suspect rights are ok.
I did us 'cp', not 'mn', in case something went wrong.
So, it seems to be working now, from outside the HDA, but I'm not sure where the original copy went on my root drive
