PlexConnect for Apple TV 2nd/3rd

How did you get it to work?

I have a brand new install of Amahi 7.1 Express CD ==> Fedora 19

I have been fighting this for a couple days and think I have it figured out with the newest Plex Connect but I still get errors.

It seems that the new python scripts are a lot more intelligent (which requires less config changes) but I can't seem to get it to work.


I have deleted all of my steps since it did NOT work.

I have found more information in my search.

Seems Fedora 19 has a flaw with the ip interface naming and everything from the above instructions does not overcome this issue.

I've looked at now using my DD-WRT router as a re-direct as described here https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/issues/52

Once I get it up and running I will work on writing up a clear step-by-step.

Would you please be so kind to put this in the wiki? We would greatly appreciate it.

We prefer to have tutorials there vs the forums. Many users find it easier to search the wiki vs forums.

I am asking a question about how to get this to work and have NOT gotten anything to work correctly. I wouldn't call this a tutorial. I was only sharing the steps I've taken and followed the instructions in above posts.

I would gladly add this to the Wiki when I gather all the "correct" steps.

My main issue is getting the Plex Connect app to work on the same machine as Amahi.

I've added the p20p1:1 interface with a different IP and pointed all of the Plex Connect "Settings.cfg" to that new IP.

I only don't know how to follow the last part of the instructions from user "shapethelola"

Im sorry, but my steps are actually not up to date anymore. Im not using amahi as I am using a fresh ubuntu server verison with greyhole installed without Amahi. I will take a look into it later today, maybe I can give you some hints, but PlexConnect has changed since then and Im not sure its as easy as back in the day when I first wrote this.

First of all, you created a second network interface right?

You basically have to bind the DNS ip the the new one, not the old one. You have just used your old IP, take a look at my post again, I wrote to use the just created adress.

Fix this first and see if it helps, we can move on from there
