That makes sense. The problem is that the reason folks created biosdevname was because systems with multiple NICs tend to enumerate those NICs in a different order every time the system reboots. Advising folks not to have second adapters doesn't seem like a long-term plan.
I have a notebook that "appears" to have two NICs installed whenever it's plugged into the dock.
Now I'm on to the next problem - trying to get Greyhole up and running on Amahi7...
Thanks again for the help!

Re: SOLVED! - Amahi 7 - Am I having a Fedora problem?
We're a small team and we cannot possibly support or test an infinite amount of configurations.
Problem is that for the person whose setup fails, to them that's the most important configuration in the world and should be supported
For your Greyhole note, check you the Greyhole on Amahi 7 page.

Amahi 7 - Am I having a Fedora problem?
I too have tried to install from Express (tried yesterday for the first time) and am faced with this issue. I have tried to re-install several times and the express installer does not force eth0 - I even tried to edit the nic in the initial setup screen and all that does is not allow me to enter the Amahi code. I have an Intel mobo it's older board DH55TC purchased back in 2010-11
I understand the fix on this thread. I just wanted to add that it's not just a 1 person issue. Perhaps the installer could look for either eth0 or eno0
Thanks!

Re: SOLVED! - Amahi 7 - Am I having a Fedora problem?
This should have been resolved with Amahi 7.1 Express CD. If the card is not properly detected, Amahi should still work as it should emulate the network card as eth0.
It may be there are some network cards that the Express CD does not support. In that case, a Full DVD install should do the trick. Guidance for doing this method is in the wiki.
BTW, there are many varieties of what the network card can be identified by, eno0 is just one of many. That is why we changed how Amahi recognizes them. I guess it just does not work for all.

Re: SOLVED! - Amahi 7 - Am I having a Fedora problem?
I got it installed and the code recognized with the express installer... I can access the internet and //HDA - however when I disable DHCP in my router, DHCP doesn't work on the HDA... Yet the DHCP server on the HDA seems to be running. Could that be a result of eth0?
Re: SOLVED! - Amahi 7 - Am I having a Fedora problem?
It should not be. Did you correctly set the gateway in your amahi.org profile? It must match your router IP address.

Re: SOLVED! - Amahi 7 - Am I having a Fedora problem?
yes... they match HDA default settings. I use a router and a switch and AP's, do I need to reboot them too?
Re: SOLVED! - Amahi 7 - Am I having a Fedora problem?
Not sure. I presume you did refresh IP on your clients. Maybe try running the network troubleshooter.

Re: SOLVED! - Amahi 7 - Am I having a Fedora problem?
well I downloaded the Fedora 19 installer and will try installing it that way. I will post back on my success.

Good luck and hope it works for you.
