I have just had to reinstall my Amahi server and have now added in my old drives as drive 2 and drive 3. They show up in my dashboard and i can create shares to them.
However they both have pre existing data on them that I really could do with either accessing or deleting, preferably accessing as it would save me quite a few hours of re backing up my systems.
So is there a way to see these old folders. I'm running Windows and just need to get at these old directories. Otherwise how would I go about reformatting these drives they are in NTFS at the moment.
I'm not using Greyhole. For a couple of reasons.
Thanks in advance
Reusing existing drives
Re: Reusing existing drives
Yes, there are a few options. You can use command line, a web app, or mount them as a share in Amahi. I would recommend command line if you just want to move them to a new location.
If you are inexperienced with command line, you can try Amahi web apps such as AjaXplorer to see and move files. It requires some configuration, but an option.
You could also use a Live CD distro and boot it on the HDA, then mount the drives and move files around as well. There are many possiblities.
For command line guidance, recommend you check the internet.
