Best and simplest way to benchmark an HDA

I am about to move from a bare metal HDA to a virtual HDA. I have conducted various data transfer and copy tests and recorded the results. Since I would like to know all the gain/loss of moving from my current HDA to the new virtual HDA I was wondering if anyone had an easy to use benchmark that I could run before and after? I am interested in

Disk read/write speed
Network File upload / download speed
DNS response time
Greyhole rebuild time )
HTTP response time (I run a variety of web services from the HDA)
AmahiTunes (is there a music rebuild / scrape something here)

Really I just want to run something, record numbers, then later run the same thing and go .. oooooh or aaaaah and feel like I know something about changing servers. Thanks.

I think you could find benchmarks for some (not all) of these items in isolation.

CPU ... check (tons of them)
NAS/Samba ... check (search for Intel NAS benchmark for a well known tool)
Pure network ... check (somewhat easy, with rsync, others)
Disk ... check. probably not hard to find
HTTP ... check (apachebench, some others)

System ... check.

for the rest ... hard.

now, one as a whole ... it would be hard. it would be useful to roll some of these into one script ...
