I will made an update to the wiki. As for files to edit, only do those in /etc/vpn. The others are from the initial app install and not accessible from the app itself. Editing them will do nothing.
Good to know. So it sounds like I should ignore the Amahi.conf file I found and work with the openvpn.conf file. I may try this tonight and let you know how it goes.

Here is the update. I ran all the commands on the wiki. Everything seemed to go without a hitch. Networking is not broken, however, I am still getting a 10.8.0.0/24 address and not a LAN address. Any ideas here?

Alternatively, if I could get some guidance on getting an IPSec connection setup in Linux I would be fine with that as well.

If you followed the guidance in the wiki, then you should be getting an IP in your network.

The only guidance is what you find in the wiki. If that does not work, you may have to research on the internet. Sorry I am not familiar with this myself, so cannot be much help.

This seems to be the case entirely. It actually did end up breaking networking and I am in the process of reinstalling Amahi now. I found and old thread where someone suggested that this bridging be setup by default. It seems like if I do this bridge it breaks my IPSec tunnel. Nobody seems to have an answer (either here or otherwise) about how to get IPSec working on a linux client either.

Not to mention there are variations with what is on the wiki vs what is on the OpenVPN site about bridging. I think there are some things missing too. Has what is on the wiki (now 2 years old) been tested on more current versions of Amahi/OpenVPN?

I would venture to say what is in the wiki has not been tested with the latest. Amahi users contribute articles such as this one, then never update it when Amahi versions change.

You will probably have to experiment to get things the way you desire. If you do find sometehing that needs changed/added to the wiki, please do so.
