Verify that you have a good download and burn. Then once booted, let is settle for 10 seconds or so before selecting the time zone or anything else.

If you click too soon, it will crash. That is what happened to me anyway.

I verified that I had a good media source and waited. Still get the same unknown error.

Could it be a bad DVD burn or problem with the drive? We have had very few reported issues.

Only suggestion I can offer is use the full DVD and follow the instructions in the wiki for 32-bit, but using 64-bit instead.

No guarantee it will work, but there is no explanation as to why the Express CD is not working for you. Unless there is some driver support missing for your hardware, it's hard to say what is going on.

I have the exact same issue. I've also checked the iso and waited but still couldn't install.
I've also checked my network connection since I've read somewhere it could cause issues.

I will try the full DVD this weekend.

I always have the issue at the same moment after it partitioned the hard drive and it starts to install the packets.

I actually encountered this error today when reinstalling Amahi 7.1 Express. The fix was to format the hard I was trying to install Amahi on too. It looked as if it was trying to load part of my previous install (more specific my previous RAID configuration). Hope this helps others!
