DHCP not working

Postby tedstriker » Wed May 15, 2013 12:16 pm

Hello.

The wife killed the HDA by filling it with water (long story). Motherboard dead. Hard drives and power supply ok.

Put new mb, cpu, ram, video card, in and used old hard drives. Everything fired up. Almost. My onboard ethernet card was recognized as eth1. eth0 had the mac address of the old card. So I followed the instructions I found here:

https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Post-I ... re_Changes

and

https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Bindin ... rk_Devices

It now seems my DHCP server is not working. In the logs I see in the DHCP section:

Not configured to listen on any interface!

So it seems my DHCP server can't find my eth0 network card. Is that correct?

I'm running Amahi 6 with Fedora 12.

I'm very new to Linux. I know I will need to give you some config files or log files to help me. Please let me know what information I can provide to trouble shoot this.

Thank you for your time.

Log into the HDA via the Desktop. Then look for network settings in the admin or preferences area, cannot remember where it is.

Once you find that, check that the correct network card is selected. I have had to go this route in the past to get things situated.

If that does not do it, then you may need to check the internet for changing the network card in the DHCP config file. I am sure there is something out there that tells how to do it.
