RESOLVED: Re: DNS Problem

Postby tchristensen » Sun Apr 07, 2013 7:13 am

One more question, BigFoot and then I will leave you alone. I am getting ready to reformat and start over. To make things easy, I want to copy all of my files over to a 1tb drive that I have connected via sata to hda box. Will be quickest this way rather than trying to go over network to copy.

When I go to var/hda/files/ and copy items from there to the hard drive it simply copies the shortcut to the greyhole pool rather than placing the actual files on the drive. When I go into var/hda/drives/ nothing shows up. I thought maybe I could go in there and copy from there.

Any suggestions on this would help me a lot. Again, don't want to copy 800 GB over network.

Thanks again for all of your help.

Two options:

One would be to invoke the mount_shares_locally script on your HDA.

https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Mount_Shares_Locally

The other is to check on of your Greyhole drives for the folder gh. Inside there will be the shares and actual files, not symlinks.

Hope that helps.

Thanks much. I will have to go with option one as when I go to GH folder, nothing is inside.

Bigfoot, is there any way for me to get rid of my troypoint hda account in my control panel at amahi.org? Starting to reinstall and want to start fresh. Maybe I just need to start a new hda.

Thanks.

New install went great. Still can't see anything from my internal address of dojo.net when I type into browser. http://hda works fine. Went through network troubleshooter and everything checks out fine. Don't really need the internal domain I don't think unless something may crop up down the road.

Have also turned off dhcp in router and renewed client.

Thanks.
