I have a crashed WHS that will be replaced by Ubuntu desktop and Amahi.
WHS Drive Extender data are duplicated and scattered over 5 x 2 TB drives.
Plan is to install Ubuntu and Amahi on separate 2 TB drive and use a spare 2 TB for Greyhole startup.
Further on start copying over data from 5x DE data drives.
Meaning these NTFS formatted drives will be connected to the Ubuntu machine one at the time.
Once copy completed, drive will be formatted and added to Greyhole pool.
Same procedure for next drive. Connect, copy, format and Greyhole pool.
Of course I need to be sure that all the data were copied correctly before formatting.
Which program do you recommend for copying over this duplicated and scattered data ?
In my dreamworld I was hoping for the option to skip copying data that is already there, after first drive have been copied.
Basically only checking name and filesize. Skipping any timestamps. If its there, same filesize(ntfs-ext4 ?) then skip it !
This is the initial plan, but please I am open for any suggestions that will make this migration easier.
Am I even on the right track ?
Cheers.

Recommend you check out the wiki article regarding WHS migration.

Re: Migrate from WHS to Amahi(Ubuntu). Data copy/file transf
Thanks, had a look at this earlier and it makes migration from WHS to Amahi easier.
However, my problem is that data on "DE drives" are scattered and duplicated since I never had the chance to perform a proper
removal of drives from WHS before it crashed.
Also I'm pretty sure there is quite a lot of manually duplicated files due to the 'let's copy just in case' effect over the years..This applies especially to music and photos.
Since there is almost 9 TB of data on these drives I was hoping to find some magic copy program that could do a 2-way "sync-check" but only 1-way copy if needed ?
These drives have the same folder structure(typical DE) but data is scattered and duplicated within these folders.
That means manual copy will take a loong time and no logging of the copy progress I guess.
