SOLVED: 2nd hd isn't found in the storage pool

Hi,

I've just installed Amahi. It looks good. I've also heard some good things about it.

Now i want to add a 2nd hdd but it wont do it.

From the wiki I've been following the steps until point 5 in Manually setting up the disk mount order
After rebooting i can't find the hd in the storage pool.

When I use the script hda-diskmount, these are the results

Ignoring /dev/sdb1 - already mounted
Ignoring /dev/sdb1 - already in /etc/fstab as UUID=2839E75B4C7E2375

This device appears to be commented out of your /etc/fstab. You will need to remove it from there for hda-diskmount to be able to mount it.

Some extra info. I've formatted the 2nd hd in ntfs. Is this necessary when you with windows pc's?
Amahi runs on ubuntu 12.04.
The 3nd hd was intended for a RAID setup but i've read that isn't necessary because Amahi use Greyhole. Correct? I need to clear this out.

If you format the drive using NTFS, there are additional packages that must be installed as noted in the wiki. Recommend you stick with the Linux file system (ext4) unless there is an urgent need to use the Windows one.

I've formatted the drive to ext4 but i've got the same result > no hd in the storage pool
then i reformatted the drive to ext3 but unfortunately the same result.

I'm going to reinstall everything and see what will happen then.

Seems a bit extensive for a drive. When you install, only 1 drive can be connected. Then you follow the guidance for adding drives.

In your previous post, it looked like the drive was picked up. Did you add it to the /etc/fstab and mount it? If not, it will not show up in the pool. Sometimes a reboot may be required as well.

too late, i just started the reinstall of Amahi.
We'll see what will happen next

I've followed every step from the wiki, add the hd to fstab, mount it, reboot but no success.
The wiki is clear and yet no hd in the storage pool.
The 'strange' thing is the hd is mounted, it's appears also under /var/hda/files/drives but not in the storage pool (Setup - Shares). It also appears at my drives

Ok LOL That is odd if you followed the wiki. Hopefully it will appear this time.

ok, everything is working now, thanks for the help
probably was NTFS the issue.
I've also added the drive with the installation of Ubuntu. I read that can cause some problems.
