GLPI plugin url

Postby rdagijones » Wed Jan 02, 2013 11:17 am

I installed GLPI and figured out how to install the Fusioninventory service plugin. I am having trouble getting Fusioninventory to see any Fusioninventory Agents running on computers in the office network. Any suggestions?

When you set up Fusioninventory you have to put in the server's url. I am not sure that I did this correctly, or even how to set it up for Amahi. Here is a video that tells how to set up an Agent on CentOS so that it connects to the server.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x33FSs8Mcgk

The above tutorial uses "http://localhost.com/glpi" as the server address.
The default address when I install a Fusioninventory Agent on a Windows PC is "http://glpi/glpi/plugins/fusioninventory/"

Help! :!:

Did you try http://gpi.home.com? Substitute your domain for home.com if it's different.

I did try "glpi.home.com" substituting my domain and did not have success. Could it be that the location provided by default seems to have some specific location in mind, thus the "/glpi/plugins/fusioninventory/". Would I need some other specifics?

Try the IP address versus localhost. I have seen something similar work with the same type of app.

How would I format that url? Let's say the ip address for my server is 192.168.1.2

Try http://192.168.1.2 and then add more as needed. May not work, but it's a start.

I don't know how web apps get to the directory that they need but would formatting it something like this help?
"http://192.168.1.2/var/hda/web-apps/glp ... inventory/"
What I am aiming at is giving the program an absolute path from the root to the folder that it needs. Will that formatting achieve this?

I don't believe that will work. Try something like this:

http://192.168.1.2/plugins/fusioninventory/

I got Fusioninventory to work.
  • First I installed the "php-xmlrp" and "php-soap" in Fedora. (I think the package names are correct.)
I downloaded the packages for Webservices and then Fusioninventory and unpacked them into the /var/hda/web-apps/glpi/html/plugins directory. (Be sure to read the directions for each of the plugins. Some directories require full read/write access for the installation of the plugin.)
Log into GLPI with the root user, "glpi" user and "glpi" password.
I had to install and/or update and enable the Webservices plugin (https://forge.indepnet.net/projects/webservices/files). I don't know if it was a coincidence or not but things started working after I did clean install of the Fusioninventory plugin after installing Webservices.
Then I installed the Fusioninventory plugin parts. (http://forge.fusioninventory.org/projec ... glpi/files Pick the one that is compatible with your GLPI version.) There are four different component that have to be installed in a certain order. (GLPI will not let you install or update/enable other parts until prerequisites are in place. Just follow it intuitively.)
Then when I went to Plugins > Fusioninventory in the GLPI menu I had to put the long url address for an Amahi app like this:

http://glpi.AAAA.com/plugins/fusioninventory/ ("AAAA" being the local domain.)
This same exact url has to be put in each agent, the agent you put on your server and then on each device. I just pulled up glpi's web console and copied/pasted the url from the setup screen. Then I knew what the agent and the server had were identical. I had the agent do a "force inventory" and its information showed up in the Inventory > Computers screen. Done.

Congrats on getting it working. Would you mind adding this guidance to the wiki? It would be beneficial for other users who are trying to do the same type of setup.

We would greatly appreciate it.
