Step 11 failed Router not accessible from Clients

Postby mshall » Wed Jan 02, 2013 7:47 am

The router is accessible by ip address but not by name so I fail the step 11. I am unsure why this is problem but.. However I do have a problem with external access from internet to hda. Which is what I was trying the troubleshoot to help with.

The router is accessible by name from the hda. Interestingly nslookup router at the client generates a response with the ip address and name of the hda not the router.

I would be grateful for any tips as I am very new to this.

Using the Network Troubleshooter, I failed step 11 - Router is reachable from clients?. Here's a paste to help troubleshoot: http://sprunge.us/hYPe

Thanks and Happy New Year to all!

Is the HDA your sole DHCP/DNS server? Have you refreshed the DHCP lease on clients?

well I was about to reply yes definitely and maybe; then I realised I had forgotten to turn off router dhcp. I have know and now after the renew, step 11 is now fine.

Thanks for your help. It is so quick asking you. I am learning a lot! :D :D :D
