Problem solved. I disconnected network connection on ubuntu and reconnected

I couldn't ping the Amahi server's IP 192.168.1.10

I cant turn of the routers DNS, a Cisco Cable Modem. It seems to be hardwired into the router.

I could access the web from the Amahi. After a bit of fiddling I disconnected amahi from the networh and then reconnected. Hda showed up on Windows
