Issue installing Crashplan

Postby schapie1978 » Wed Sep 26, 2012 12:51 pm

Hi everybody,

So I've just purchased the Crashplan app for my HDA but when installing it using Amahi Dashboard it keeps "preparing to install". I've never had problems before installing apps so I'm not sure what to do. I've rebooted to give it a clean start but to no avail. At this moment I think it has been running for half an hour at least. The log shows this message every couple of seconds:

Processing AppController#install_progress (for 192.168.2.7 at 2012-09-26 21:45:26) [POST]
Parameters: {"action"=>"install_progress", "authenticity_token"=>"XxfVuFtKrKmu6Xp6dThCQQDPf0cfCaHsKNq1iPlIp5I=", "id"=>"sp2uf8jdkx", "controller"=>"app"}
Completed in 71ms (View: 2, DB: 55) | 200 OK [http://hda.*****.local/app/install_progress/sp2uf8jdkx]

I'm running Fedora 14. Do I need to wait it out? Is there anything I can or need to do? Any help is much appreciated!

Sounds like it may be a connectivity problem. I will double check the source, but last time it was fine. Do you have a high speed connection?

UPDATE: There is something going on with the app install on Fedora 14. Ubuntu works fine. We are investigating it now.

Crashplan should be fixed now for Fedora 14. Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.

I was able to install without any issues! Since my post I had tried clearing the browser-cache (you never know) but since installing random other apps worked just fine I figured it was a longshot. I also rebooted my hda several times, tried other browsers, another pc; nothing. Having read more topics on install failures I figured it might be a connectivity issue and decided to just wait it out. I gave it another go this morning and everything went smooth, I'm backing up right now. So, thanks for your reply and fix, problem solved!
