I installed a fresh Ubuntu and then tried to install Amahi. First in the terminal during Amahi installation my keyboard would not work entering the password. I finally entered the password using copy/past. I now have 2 icons on desttop when i click on Amahi dashboard it goes to http://hda.com/.
I am completely new at this. What am I doing wrong? thank you
Amahi dash board goes to http://hda.com/
Re: Amahi dash board goes to http://hda.com/
Sounds like the Amahi install was not successful. You may need to reinstall Ubuntu and Amahi. Did you follow the instructions at http://docs.amahi.org?

Re: Amahi dash board goes to http://hda.com/
sorry if this is an on going theme. this is my first linux experience.
I have set up a home server
cor 2 quad 6600
4 GB ram
160Gb HD (just so it gets set up will add more when all set up)
twin 8500gt (was in SLI mode under windows not sure if i need 2 with a server)
i have followed all the instructions to the letter
Instaalled ubuntu server, then AMAHI
I can get the dashboard at http://hda
but the server screen does not show the dashboard, what am i missing?
Just made it to the reboot screen when rebooting I get error fdo read error and just back to command?
still ended back at @homeserver:~$ no amahi dashboard

Re: Amahi dash board goes to http://hda.com/
GUI and dashboard are only available via http://hda. The Ubuntu server edition has no desktop or GUI. You can only do command line from the log in prompt.
You should be able to do most things from the dashboard via a client. If you want GUI capability on the HDA, you need to install the Desktop edition as specified on http://docs.amahi.org.
