I have amahi on fedora 14 working (on samsung netbook), router dns turned off. I lost greyhole (or never had it) adding new usb 1T drive. I think I deleted some files using nautilus.
Goal: migrate to amahi on ub 12.04.
(I am so much more familar w/ubuntu terminal, apt-get etc....even tho F14 is rock solid...but have not updated due to unfamilar with yum, resist learning new and still burn from RH 9 RPM's)
I assume following steps are in order:
1-enable router dns
2-install ub 12.04
3-partion (NEED SUGGESTIONS) (pls explain lz, do I need seperate partition etc.)
Netbook hd=250g for os and lz and etc. 1T usb for backups primarialy. do I keep F14/amahi as fall-back, if so how?
4-install amahi (DO I KEEP EXISTING HDA OR USE NEW?)
5-update ub 12.04
6-turn off router dns
Any other recommendations welcomed...or point me to forum or wiki.
Thanks, dan.
