I'm new to Amahi and have done a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit and Amahi on a new HP Microserver ....which I named microserver. Things seems to have worked OK. I can login to control panel, install apps and /hda works. I have also disabled my router DHCP/DNS and using Amahi's recommendation for this.
Problem I'm getting is with the subdomain alias, that points to the installed applications. e.g. after I installed the tikiwiki I get tiki.microservr as the app URL. My browser gives me the error "could not find tiki.microserver".
I expect these's some issues with the DHCP/DNS but unsure where to start looking.
Any help & hint would be appreciate.
Cheers
Colin
Problem with alias Links to installed applications
Re: Problem with alias Links to installed applications
Did you refresh your client IP? Also a domain name typically is 2 parts and not one. Not sure if that is the problem, but could be. Should be something like "microserver.com" or similar.
Suggest you try the network troubleshooter and see if it points out any issues.

Re: Problem with alias Links to installed applications
Thanks for the hints.
I've refreshed everything, but same problem. I tested on the server directly and that works ok, but not from a remote client. The problem only occurs with the subdomains (e.g. wiki.microserver/). The other features work OK remotely.
Is there another direct URL path where this is mapped ? My knowledge of networking, DNS, etc is not good so not too sure what else to check. Any further hints?
Thanks

Re: Problem with alias Links to installed applications
Are you using the HDA for DHCP/DNS? If not, then that is the problem.
