Redo vs. Clonzilla
I checked it out: The Amahi app for Redo is a beta and yet is purchasable by the general user. Clonzilla is a beta app and is not accessible. Why is this the case?
Re: Redo vs. Clonzilla
Not sure why you cannot access Clonezilla. It should show in your dashboard if you have beta app access. I verified it is beta and no cost associated at the moment. Please email support so it can be investigated.
In case you are interested, you can also download the live CDs from the author's web site for both. They pretty much work the same as the Amahi app. Only major difference is the creation of a share for backups and it uses PXE network boot.
These apps may not be the latest versions. Although we try to keep them updated, it is difficult sometimes.

Re: Redo vs. Clonzilla
I installed Amahi's Redo App on two servers at the office but cannot for the life of me figure out how to access or use the Redo app. I gave up and just used a Redo disk, imaged each computer in the network and then moved the image files to a share I created on each server. I do not need the Redo app so how can I get reimbursed? The info on the app page (http://www.amahi.org/apps/redo-backup-and-recovery) is almost verbatim what is on the Redo site and it does not include any instructions on how to utilize the app. As best as I can figure the app expects users to use some network boot technology of which I am unaware. It would be helpful to have that clarified on the Amahi Redo App page so that interested users know that ahead of time.
Re: Redo vs. Clonzilla
Point noted about providing a note that the app is only usable via network boot.
One word of caution, beta apps are not stable and do not always work. Hence why they are not live. It is best to ask about these apps before purchasing. The Amahi team can then give you an idea of the apps functionality and/or if it works.
FYI. Network boot is a technology that allows you to boot a client up via network interface and connect to the HDA. There are a few beta apps that support this in Amahi, none of them are live.
Thanks for the feedback.
