I just click on and purchased the "Redo" app for Amahi. How do I get to it to use it? When I chick on the app link on the dashboard it only tells me that I cannot use it that way. Help
Re: How to Redo
You can by redo backup on amahi?
hmm thats news to me.
I downloaded it from redobackup.org. It's an amazing software for a ghost replacement. That's how I do all my imaging of PC's.
What is it suppose to offer from amahi?
OK i went to look at https://www.amahi.org/apps/redo-backup-and-recovery
Now im more confused. Amahi is selling the app where you can download it for free from the website?
I must be missing something here.

Re: How to Redo
The program is free but the one-click install and setup of the Amahi app is what has a cost. You could always install and configure the program separately for free and avoid paying Amahi if you wish.
Re: How to Redo
But what are you paying for though.
If you download the ISO and burn it to CD/DVD, your good to go to use it.
So I buy this, install it then what. What is it your paying for. What are the users get out of this?

Re: How to Redo
Hello,
What is not stated in this thread is that these apps are not currently live and in beta
status.
The Amahi one-click app makes use the the Amahi Netboot (PXE) technology. You can basically install it on your HDA and network boot from your clients to the HDA to access this software. When you make backups, there is a preconfigured share that all the files will be stored in on the HDA. By purchasing the Amahi version, you gain the setup as mentioned above and don't have to burn CDs each time the app is updated.

There are other apps such as Clonezilla, Parted Magic, gParted, and Damns Small Linux that have been packaged for Amahi as well. They all work the same way via Amahi Netboot.
These apps are provided for convenience, i.e. minimal or no configuration needed. We know you can download the ISO, burn the CD, and use it for free. The reason we apply convenience fees to apps often is due to the development needed to make it Amahi compatible. Some take quite a bit of time and testing.
As with most Amahi apps, you can use our version or you can manually install yourself. It's your choice.
Hope that clarifies things for everyone.
