Subsonic - will Amahi app overwrite the already installed?

Postby wendigo » Fri Apr 06, 2012 5:52 am

Hi guys,

I've noticed Subsonic for Amahi is already live. However, I'm already using Subsonic which I've installed the standard way on my Amahi box. And here come the questions :)

1. Will the Amahi app use settings and databases of the existing app instance?

2. In case not, do you have some advice on which conf. files may be used and which not? Perhaps some of them contain absolute paths that won't be valid or so... I'm a linux noob so any advice that helps me spend a few hours less configuring and restarting and moving files is welcome :)

Thank you in advance.

There is a chance that they will not use the same settings. I would recommend if you want to use the Amahi app that you backup any settings and uninstall the manual version. Then you can install the Amahi version and copy your settings over if needed.

Amahi installs Subsonic from probably the same RPM you used.

If you already have it working, why use the Amahi version? If you want a preconfigured setup to work with your HDA shares, then it would be beneficial. I would say unless you are willing to possibly redo your settings and such, leave it alone.

Ah, yes, that makes sense. Thanks.
