DynDNS vs. *.yourhda.com

Postby straightshooter1 » Mon Jan 31, 2011 8:13 am

I've search the forums and I hope well enough. Here is my situation. I've been using DynDNS for years now and love the service. Since the install of Amahi I can no longer use the service in the same fashion as I am used to. Is there a way to disable Amahi's dynamic DNS service, while keeping it as my local network's DNS server?

I cannot stand to use the "*.yourhda.com" address for my network.

If we mean to use an external URL, think you can use your previous accounts dyn dns forwarding to your static IP or Yourhda.com

The DynDNS for Amahi currently cannot be disabled. There is a bug which causes other problems, so suggest you not try to disable it.

Any movement on this? Basically I do not want an address of "*.yourhda.com" to be accessible. Can I some how redirect the "*.yourhda.com" address to my DynDNS service URL?

You can add an additional DynDNS I believe, just not disable the Amahi provided one without consequences. Not sure when we will have a chance to work on any changes to the current way. Our limited resources are diligently working on the Ubuntu release.
