Is it possible to host two separate websites on one Server?

Hi there,

Basically here's what I want to do. Right now, I have a website hosted at http://patscomputerservices.com and a blog hosted at http://patscompservices.blogspot.com. Now, I have my private "yourhda" at patrickdickey.yourhda.com. What I want to do is this: I want to host my entire website/blog through WordPress using the patscomputerservices.com domain (which I own), and still have the "yourhda" site at patrickdickey.yourhda.com. Is that possible? In theory, it seems simple enough. I would leave my conf files for the Amahi Server alone (the httpd files), and make sure there are no references to "patrickdickey.yourhda.com" in my WordPress conf files (I'm referring to the ones in /etc/httpd/conf.d/ by this).

So, is this a feasible solution? Is the solution as simple as I think it is? Or should I create a CNAME entry for hda.patscomputerservices.com and point it to the Amahi http files? Essentially if someone goes to patscomputerservices.com, I don't want them to access the Amahi Server (or I want to make them use hda.patscomputerservices.com if they will), but if they go to patrickdickey.yourhda.com, I want them to have access to the Amahi Server.

I'm looking at the "Hosting a website" wiki entry, and that looks like what I need. But, I want to make sure that it will work as easily as I think.

Essentially yes you can host as many as you like from one server, but....

Unless you have a considerably good symmetrical internet connection, it would make more sense to use a data-center-based hosting company.

If you host your website from your Amahi box, you would want to consider..
-99% up-time with an uninterrupted power supply
-extensive homework and implementation of Linux firewall security so nobody hacks your box
-having at least 20MBit down and 10MBit up internet connection and QoS on your router to keep your personal and server internet traffic independently throttled.
-needing nearly unlimited bandwidth from your ISP so that you can accommodate your website AND home-use internet needs.
