Ok, my advice for the wiki? if your drive isnt being mounted correctly, copy your data elsewhere and reformat and partition the drive as suggested in the instructions!

Once I did that, hda-diskmount picked up the drive and everything is working now.

Next is to test the VPN connectivity, and remote access capabilities. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. :)

The question here should be was it mounted or just not in the desired place. You can change mount points without going through all the hassle of moving files and reformatting the drive.

If it did not mount, then we would want to figure out why. If it was not a Linux file system, that could be it. There are additional Fedora packages needed to handle Windows file system drives as noted in the wiki guidance.

Glad you got it sorted out, but I am a bit puzzled why hda-diskmount would not see it. The only logical explanation would be the file system issue or that is was already mounted. Guess that is a mute point now though :)

Well just for information's sake,

The disk manager detected the file system type as GUID, however this was previously in a windows machine to my knowledge, I haven't owned a linux desktop in years. So what I tried after(?) delting the current partition and formatting was attempting formatting with various filesystems and partition types, i tried ntfs, MBR partion, ext4 and ext3(via the instructions; i did noot attempt to mount it while it was ext4, as I had just seen the instructions saying use ext3) nothing worked until i followed the instructions precisely including the formatting via command line. FYI I used cfdisk, not gparted to make the partition.

That is odd as I have mounted many drives, NTFS and ext4 with no issues. I guess it does not matter as long as you got it working.
