Got almost to "Add the Amahi repository" and then...

Postby hawkesite » Sun Jan 08, 2012 9:19 pm

...the system simply would not go to Add the Amahi repository! It asked me to reboot and then add a new user. Help!

That does not seem the behavior of the Fedora 14 DVD. It may be the live CD or something else ...

double check it's the full dvd.

The DVD would not play - it is/was the live CD via USB.

The live CD and (especially) the USB stick are not supported. Sorry. Check that the DVD media burned OK.

I know. When I was able to use the USB to emulate the DVD for full install, I got, " Missing ISO 9660 Image The installer had tried to mount image #1, ..."

Now that I have Fedora 14 working, can I add the package?

Not sure about that. Best way to install via USB is to follow the wiki guidance.

http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Fedora_14_usb_install

I have tested this a few times in the past and had no issues. If you do not get a clean install, Amahi may not install and work correctly. Best to use the DVD, but if you cannot then the wiki method is the next best thing.

Although we do not officially support it, I can tell you that most who have tried it were successful.
