Installation on a Scaleo

Postby rdrysen » Thu Dec 29, 2011 8:53 am

I have installed Fedora 14 and Amahi on a harddrive that I put into an "old" computer. Everything worked fine. The idea was to transfer the harddrive to my "head, foot and armless" Scaleo WHS. That doesn't work. My question is if this is a possible route and if so what can I do to get it working? If this is not a viable procedure how can I install Amahi on my Scaleo Home Server, as it doesn't have any monitor, keyboard, mouse or DVD-drive?

I would have been surprised if it had worked. I don't know if it is possible to install without having direct access to your box.

You might do a search in the forums for help. I did see some traffic on this type of server.

Thanks Bigfoot for your reply. I have been searching the forums, but sofar haven't found anything directly related to my problem. It seems as if you have to turn your Scaleo into a regular computer with a graphic card for the monitor. I can't understand how that is being done, but some of you might help me? But then another question still remains, how to get the data on the DVD into the the Scaleo as it hasn't a DVD drive?
I know I am asking questions that for some of you seems rather elementary, but I am a true newbie.
Any help or suggested is much appreciated.

Does it have USB capability? If so, you could then do a USB install of Fedora 14 then. The wiki has some guidance on how to do it.
