Came back from vacation and my HDA is flaking...

Postby rbmattis » Sun Dec 18, 2011 8:32 pm

trying to access the dashboard says:

"Application error

Rails application failed to start properly"

SMB sharing is not working.

DLNA serving is working.

I can succesfully telnet and VNC in.

Which error logs should i look at to fix it?

Might check to ensure hdactl is running or maybe restart it.

Code: Select all

service hdactl status
Also, recommend you get the latest Fedora updates. That might help as well. As for logs, you can check in /var/log directory...dmesg possibly.

To update Fedora, do:

Code: Select all

yum update
Hard to say what may have happened. It could be anything and a reboot of your HDA may or may not fix it. I have had to reboot my on occasion as it sometimes behaves like Windows (meaning that it needs a refresh).

Nope. Rebooting didn't fix it. Trying 'yum update'...

You must be using Greyhole. Looks like your OS drive is full. You will need to either use a Live CD to delete some files or maybe move some stuff to a different drive.

I could be wrong, but could be part of the issue.

Do a

Code: Select all

df -h
as root user and you can see if that is true.

Nope, not using greyhole either.

Ok, maybe do

Code: Select all

yum clean all
and then try the update.
