Hi, I've just installed Amahi and it seems to be all working to the extent that I can access the shares I set up from a laptop BUT I have installed to OS on a partition of a 320GB HDD which was formatted and then when I set up Amahi I've added my existing 1TB HDD which holds all my movies and music. It mounted and shows up ok but what I'd like to know is how can I move the existijng data on the HDD into the shares so I can see them??
If I use computer in Fedora I can see the disks called vg_mediapc but when I click to explore it says unable to mount location?
Moving existing data into shares.
Re: Moving existing data into shares.
Check out the info in the wiki.

You can make a share to the existing drive path or move the files to existing shares. To move the files, probably best to do it via command line.
Have you enabled the new drive in the storage pool and the applicable shares to use it? If so, then the manual move to the appropriate shares will ensure you do not run out of space.

Re: Moving existing data into shares.
Thanks for the info but I can't actually see the existing data to know where to point the share to. If I look at the disk pooling screen I can see that I only have 19% free on my 1TB drive which is right but I cant see navigate to the data on it
Re: Moving existing data into shares.
Understand. These are the types of things that require command line access as root user. You can do so via SSH client or directly on the HDA using Terminal.
There is no Web GUI that allows you to see and move files. There are some web apps that exist, but the cannot handle the magnitude of data that you will be moving.
You can find guidance in the wiki on how to access your HDA via SSH or Terminal.
