can't install - fatal error re: ruby-rdoc

Any help getting Amahi installed would be appreciated. I just blew away the OS on my existing media server & will be without access to my files until I get Amahi working.

I've downloaded and burned a Fedora 14 install DVD. Installing Fedora fails with the following error message.

"Error Installing Package

A fatal error occurred when installing the ruby-rdoc
package. This could indicate errors when reading
the installation media. Installation cannot continue"

Based on this I burned another DVD thinking I had problems with install media. Tried again with my new DVD & found the same problem. Based on that I downloaded another image from an entirely different mirror & found the same problem.

I then tried re-installing a minimal Fedora OS without adding the Amahi repository. This worked. I'm tempted to attempt the unsupported installation of Amahi on an existing Fedora machine (http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Self-install-existing), unless there is a better solution.

Oh, forgot to mention my unsuccessful attempt with the express CD. It failed with a kernel panic.

are you sure your hardware is ok?
kernel panics, errors in media ... sounds a lot like a possible hardware issue.

Yes I'm sure the hardware is fine. This system has run Gentoo for 3 years, then Ubuntu for 2 more. I've burned 4 DVD's which all fail at the same point. I don't think media is to blame here. The DVD's work fine when installing Fedora. The ruby-doc error comes up when trying to install Fedora alongside the Amahi repository.

solved

1) From the install wizards repository screen replaced "Installation Repo" with "Fedora 14 - i368"
2) selected "Fedora 14 - i386" and clicked on modify repository
3) replaced the default repository url with http://mirror.itc.virginia.edu/fedora/r ... a/i386/os/
4) un-selected "URL is a mirror list"
5) clicked OK
6) clicked Next & installed completed with no issues
